Sign-up, profile creation and platform engagement

At Designers Trust A/S we value your privacy, and we are committed to protecting your personal data.
When you access our website, sign-up to our platform (Designers Trust) and create your profile either as a:

  • Brand to launch a Design Pitch, or view our Trust,
  • Designer to submit design concepts to our Trust, or to a Design Pitch,we receive and process personal information about you which we use for the purposes described in this document.

The information and data we process when you access our website, sign-up, create a profile and following engage with the platform (e.g. by submitting concepts to the Trust as a designer, or launch a Design Pitch as a brand) are necessary for us in order to validate you, contact you, support the features you use, handle payment for any potential sold/acquired concepts and projects, or to evaluate and assess a submitted concepts or a design pitch.

For Brands:
· The information you provide us will be used to evaluate and provide feedback on design pitches, create Ideation groups, identify relevant content and concepts on Designers Trust, and create personalized profile pages and dashboards.

For Designers:

  • The information you provide us will be used in our assessment of your skillsets, experience, your concepts, to create a personalized profile pages and content on Designers Trust, and to invite you for specific design pitches or other creative assignments.
  • We evaluate each submission of a concept (to either a pitch or our Trust) in relation to our internal guidelines and quality framework, and this is done by manual assessment. Once we have reviewed the submitted concept, we choose what concepts can be submitted to a pitch or showcased on the Trust. Concepts that are not accepted will be notified.


1. Who we are

Designers Trust connects the creatives of the world with the brands who need them – for the benefit of both. We provide brands with access to the world of creativity while making sure all the fine print is handled and taken care of – allowing everyone to focus on what they do best.

Designers Trust is the brainchild of Chief Designer Timothy Jacob Jensen and is based on his family’s century-old design tradition, a Scandinavian approach to fairness and an undeniable eye for quality and aesthetics. His name and legacy is
a guarantee that both brands and designers will benefit optimally from Designers Trust.Company name: Designers Trust A/S. 2. Who we transfer your data to

Your personal data may be transferred or otherwise shared with Designers Trust affiliates. It may also be transferred in case of a reorganization of Designers Trust, including merger, takeover, de-merger, and in general any reorganization operation.

We may transfer personal data to third parties when and only when it is necessary to provide the product or service to you. In such cases, these third parties are prohibited to use these data beyond what is necessary to provide those product or service to you. In any case where cross-border transfer is done, we ensure that adequate protection is guaranteed for personal data. You may request access to a copy of these safeguards by contacting us.

3. The personal data we collect about you

For brands:
In order to process your sign-up, profile creation, creation and submission of a design brief to launch a design pitch, and viewing of concepts, we process the information about you, the design brief and other attached documents, and your activity on our site.

In the process of sign-up, profile creation, creation and submission of a design brief to launch a pitch, and viewing of concepts we may setup a call to learn more about your companies and your needs. We will note the information provided during these calls, to ensure a better personalized service for you. We only note relevant information which is used in assessing your design brief or create personalized content for you

During the sign-up, profile creation, creation and submission of a design brief to launch a pitch, and viewing of concepts we collect:


1. Contact data which includes details such as postal address, email address and/or telephone numbers

2. Identity data which includes details such as first, last name(s), personal title(s), job title(s)

3. Company background incl. history and focus of your company

4. Legal and payment data which includes CVR/VAT number, Billing address and name of your company

5. Design brief information for the Design Pitch such as, project name and description alongside with files and documents created by you

6. Your activities on our platform

Grounds for processing: Designers Trust’s processing is based on Article 6 (1) (b) of the Data Protection Regulation and the interest balancing rule in Article 6 (1) (f) as a processing basis because it is necessary for us to process the information in order for us to assess whether you and your project is right candidate for our website. We may also, as appropriate, use Article 6 (1) (a), 9 (2) (a) of the Data Protection Regulation, cf. Articles 6 (1) (b) or 6 (1) (f), or the Data Protection Act section 11, par. 2, no. 2, because these are personal data that you yourself have submitted to us for the purpose of submitting the project. Our processing of the information you submit to us as part of the submission process is considered to be with your consent.


For designers:
In order to process your sign-up, profile creation and concept submission, we process the information about you and the project that appears on your submission, your university degree and other attached documents.

In the sign-up, profile creation and concept submission process, we may setup a call focusing on both your professional and personal skills, the content of the concept and subsequent finalization thereof, and our company as a marketplace. We note some of the information provided during the call (s) for the final evaluation of the concept and your profile. It is only relevant information that we use in assessing whether a.) a concept will be accepted on Designers Trusts’s website or b.) whether your profile would be a match for other creative assignments .

During the sign-up, profile creation and submission process we collect:

1. Contact data which includes details such as postal address, email address and/or telephone numbers.

2. Identity data which includes details such as first, last name(s), personal title(s), job title(s)

3. Educational background incl. diploma, professional qualifications, career history, linguistic and other relevant competencies and written recommendations / references

4. Legal and payment data which includes CVR/VAT number, Billing address and name of your company

5. Project (Creation) information such as, project name and description alongside with files and documents created by you of the designs and works submitted

Grounds for processing: Designers Trust’s processing is based on Article 6 (1) (b) of the Data Protection Regulation and the interest balancing rule in Article 6 (1) (f) as a processing basis because it is necessary for us to process the information in order for us to assess whether you and your project is right candidate for our website. 4. Data security

We have taken technical and organizational measures to prevent your information being accidentally or illegally deleted, shared, published, lost or impaired or to end up in the hands of unauthorized persons, misused or otherwise treated in violation of the Danish, European and International laws. In addition to this, we limit access to your personal data to those employees and associated professionals (designers, brand ambassadors) who are in the need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and with the utmost care and respect to the letter of the law and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality

5. How long we keep your data

For Brands:
Information about your design pitch and underlying design brief will be kept during our collaboration and interaction.

If a design pitch is not launched within 1 year, whilst not having any further interaction with Designers we will assume that you have no intention of launching said specific design pitch, and we will delete the information we have registered.

If your profile has been inactive 5 years i.e. not having viewed any design concepts, had any active design pitches, acquired projects that has resulted in active royalty payment we will assume the profile to be inactive, and accordingly will delete the information we have registered about you.

The data is stored in three different location, all within the EU:

– On local units in Denmark

– On Amazon servers in Ireland

– On Microsoft European servers

For designers:
If we do not accept your concept submission, we will delete the information we have registered about your concept within 1 month.

If we accept your submission, we will keep the information during you in order to document the history of our collaboration. You will receive separate information on this in should your project be accepted.

If your profile has been inactive 5 years i.e. no concept submissions, active approved and published submissions, log-in activities, sold projects that has resulted in active royalty collections we will assume the profile to be inactive, and accordingly will delete the information we have registered about you.

The data is stored in three different location, all within the EU:

– On local units in Denmark

– On Amazon servers in Ireland

– On Microsoft European servers

6. Your legal rights

You are always welcome to request insight into what information we collect and how we process this information as well as to either update, correct ask for deletion or disclose information. You can also ask us to stop processing your personal data, for the case in which we rely on your consent and do not have another legal basis to continue processing your data.

All requests of this sort need to be sent over to the following address: legal@designerstrust.com.

Please note that the processing time for your request can vary and it may take up to 30 days.

If you are a citizen of the European Union, you of course have the right to make a complaint at any time to a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or place where the alleged data protection infringement took place. We would however appreciate the chance to deal with any of your concerns or comments or suggestions before contacting your local supervisory authority. So in this respect please contact us first and we will do our best to handle any occurring issues, concerns or problems.
